About Me

My name is Edward Bernard, and I’m a 3D look development artist driven by a love of stylized storytelling, speculative science, and character-first design. My work blends creature design, material expression, and emotional worldbuilding—drawing inspiration from The Shape of Water, Team Fortress 2, and Subnautica. I’m especially interested in themes of identity, transformation, and the surreal, often explored through hybrid character designs and stylized, texture-rich visuals.

Growing up, visiting the Long Island Aquarium was a huge influence—seeing different mini-biospheres in one place made me want to explore speculative biology through both characters and environments. That fascination with “what if” worlds still shapes my projects today, from fishmen-inspired characters to the habitats they might live in. Alongside 3D, I also bring experience in 2D look development, supporting visual continuity across hybrid and animated pipelines.
